Toolbar:   videodisplay
Menu:   Acquire > Video Display

Use this command to select the video display settings for a DCAM compliant camera connected through the FireWire interface. The corresponding video driver must be selected in the Video Preferences
.

If you choose this command, the Video Settings dialog box will appear. Click the Video Display tab, and you will see the following options:

Brightness

Move the slider to adjust the black level of the video. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software brightness control.

Gamma

Move the slider to adjust the gamma level of the video. The gamma correction modifies an image by applying standard, nonlinear gamma curves to the intensity scale. To lighten an image and increase the contrast in its darker areas, increase the gamma by moving the slider to the right. To darken the image and emphasize the contrast in the lighter areas, decrease in the gamma by moving the slider to the left. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software brightness control.

Sharpness

Move the slider to adjust the sharpness of the video. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software sharpness control.

Hue

Move the slider to adjust the color phase (red-yellow-green-cyan-blue-magenta) of the video. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software hue control.

Saturation

Move the slider to adjust the color saturation of the video. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software saturation control.
Each slider has a corresponding check box Auto located on the right. If such a box is enabled, the camera supports an automatic or one-push mode for the corresponding control. Checking the box will either put a camera to the continuous automatic control of the feature, or will momentarily adjust the feature to the optimal setting and switch back to the manual control with the slider.

Yellow-Blue

Move the slider to adjust the white balance of the video along the yellow-blue axis. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the white balance control.

Cyan-Red

Move the slider to adjust the white balance of the video along the cyan-red axis. Note that this option is available only for the cameras that support the software sharpness control.

White balance

Check this box to put the camera to the automatic white balance control mode. If the camera supports only the one-push mode for the white balance, it will adjust the balance and switch back to the manual control with the Yellow-Blue and Cyan-Red sliders.
